To honor history, let's start at the beginning. Gamma Mu Zeta Chapter's first undergrad chapter was our metropolitan chapter, Phi Kappa which served three campuses-Wofford, Converse, and USC-Spartanburg. Phi Kappa was chartered on the campus of Wofford College in the early 1980s with Sorors Alice Bomar, Frances Hardy, Felita Grady, Tiawana Mayo, and Pam Giles. Sorors Laura Thompson and Margaret Smith served as advisors. The rules changed regarding metro chapters (for a period of time they were not permitted) and USC-Spartanburg (USCS) became USC-Upstate and the new home for the undergrad chapter-Pi Rho.

In 2023, our metro chapter Phi Kappa was permitted to re-organize and will include Converse University, Limestone University, and Wofford College-with Wofford College once again serving as the host campus. More information for Phi Kappa is coming soon.
